1st Renewable Energy Global Investment Promotion Meet & Expo (RE - INVEST)

  • 1st RE-INVEST is being organised with the intent of providing a platform to the global investment community to connect with stakeholders in India. The Central Theme of the Meet is further growth of renewable energy '(RE)' and energy efficiency in the country. The Summit will be inauguratedby the Prime Minister of India on February 15, 2015and addressed by high level dignitaries at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The Plenary & Breakout Sessionsand the Exhibitionwill be held at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi on February 16-17, 2015
  • 200 Global investors from various countries, international financial institutions, bilateral and multilateral financial institutions along with Indian Banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), State Governments, PSUs concerned, renewable power developers and manufacturers, state renewable energy nodal agencies and other related stakeholders are expected to participate in RE-INVEST
  • 100% FDI under the automatic route is permitted in Renewable Energy Generation and Distribution projects subject to the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003. Incentives offered include financial & fiscal advantages and preferential tariff or payment security mechanism. Moreover, the Government has a policy to encourage transfer of foreign technologies, including those in Renewable Energy sector

Objective of RE-INVEST

  • Investment Opportunities: Showcase India as an investment destination for Renewable Energy and encourage investors for setting up projects and manufacturing facilities of Renewable Energy equipment & products in India.

Large exhibition planned for manufacturers, promoters and developers to showcase India’s manufacturing capabilities and latest technologies which will provide valuable insights to foreign investors about the potential areas of investment in the Renewable Energy sector and facilitate:

  1. Promotion of leading States as excellent destination for generating energy from Renewable sources
  2. One to One meetings for setting up of joint ventures in the RE Sector
  3. An opportunity for Indian RE Manufacturers to showcase their products and technologies in comparison to the best in the world and enhance domestic competitiveness as well as draw synergies with some leading RE technology manufacturers from other countries
  4. State & Central Policies in the Sector: Highlight Centre and State Government policies and initiatives on creating an enabling environment for domestic and foreign investors in the RE sector. Sessions will include sector-specific granulated discussions for better understanding about policies, incentives, compliance norms, time lines and other practical requirements
  5. Global Platform: The Summit will serve as a global platform for mutual dialogues and interactions between captains of Indian industry, High level dignitaries and policymakers from State & Central Governments with investors and other key stakeholders from around the globe
